When deciding what to do for our Christmas party we decided to be a little bit different. Of course our night would involve food and quite a few drinks but to add a festive twist to the occasion we decided to do it wearing cheesy Christmas jumpers!
On Friday 11th December the Bird and Co crew donned the cheesiest festive jumpers they could get their hands on and went for a night out in Stratford. We began with an all you can eat Chinese but before we were seated there was the ‘grand unveiling’ of the Christmas jumpers. People had spent anything between £15 and 15 hours trying to outdo everyone!
Everyone made a cracking effort with their Christmas attire. Martin and Charli came in matching musical festive ties, Paul was wearing a very fetching and somewhat itchy looking jumper he had managed to pull from his own wardrobe!! Faye looked very festive in her red jumper AND tights, as did Vicky in her huge green and gold jumper.
Needless to say the food was delicious and everyone ate their weight in prawn crackers and duck pancakes! After many glasses of wine and even more visits up to the buffet it was time to reveal the winner of the cheesiest jumper award. Everyone was on the edge of their seats, what was the prize, who was going to win? The vote was left to the waitress who served us and it was clear that it didn’t take too much time to decide who the winner was…NICK!

What a jumper!!
Wearing what can only be described as a bright and busy cardigan, with Santa bags as pockets, red bows as imitation buttons and candy canes amongst many more weird and wonderful decorations, it was by far the cheesiest jumper of them all and Nick was looking forward to receiving his prize! Speculation grew about what it was, an extra day off, a bottle of champagne, a gift voucher?
As Craig went to hand it over, everyone waited with baited breath, what was it going to be?!…A pair of nerd specs which must be worn for the duration of the evening! Not quite what people expected, in fact most people sighed a breath of relief that they hadn’t won!

The jolliest festive person we know!!
After dinner we went back upstairs to the bar for another drink, where Brian kicked off the party in style with a helium balloon musical rendition of blue moon and also had a surprise present from Craig in the form of a black Santa hat with ‘humbug’ written on it.
We all slowly stumbled our way around Stratford calling in at various pubs en route to our final destination which happened to be Chicago rock, collecting on the way a large amount of baubles and decorations to add to Nick’s festive jumper. By this point everyone was feeling very merry and while some of us made the most of our ‘free shooters’ offer, others went to dance.
Overall it was a very good night, everyone made a really good effort and everyone looked fantastic! And I don’t know about anyone else but I can’t wait for next Christmas!

See you all Next Christmas!!
